PARTIAL LIST OF CFB BOARD ACHIEVEMENTS

“As a board of trustees, we work collaboratively with one another. In ways, no school board action is ever the sole work of one board member. I am very proud of the hard work my colleagues and I have accomplished for our district. This partial list shows some of my favorite highlights of things the board and I have gotten done during my tenure.” (Randy S.)

  • Worked with all stakeholders to complete the 2030 strategic goals and plan.
  • Helped hire our new superintendent.
  • Helped plan and pass our $351 million-dollar bond to provide needed upgrades at all CFB facilities without raising property taxes
  • Supported efforts that have achieved our highest graduation 4 year rate in CFB history (94.8%). This exceeds the Texas (90.0%) and U.S. (88%) rates.
  • Developed and passed a new district policy that increased parent and student choice in district academies and programs.
  • Led policy change to provide full eligibility for in-district transfer students.
  • Worked to maximize district and campus security increasing student safety and security.
  • Maximized operational efficiencies to reduce costs save millions going forward by consolidating campuses and programs, and by divesting obsolete facilities.
  • Helped bring one-to-one technology (and greater tech literacy) to all C-FB students.
  • Supported adding nursing personnel bringing a full-time nurse to all campuses.
